Bold eye looks are everything right now, according to a report by the Business Insider. With everyone wearing masks and only people’s eyes visible, it’s really no surprise that eyes are now focal points. It’s easy to get creative with eye shadows and liners, but lashes can be a bit of a struggle for many. Waking up with fuller, perfectly curled lashes with just the right amount of color used to be something we all dreamt of – until now! Lash lift and tint treatments help you wake up like a Disney princess with the eyelashes you have always wanted.

What is a lash lift and tint?

Technically it’s two procedures – the lash lift and the tint. While you could get one without the other, it would equate to a bath without the bubbles. The lash lift is like using an eyelash curler or a perm for your eyelashes, making your lashes curl upwards while the tint acts like your mascara to make your eyelashes look fuller, thicker, and darker.

How does a lash lift and tint procedure work?

An eyelash lift and tint appointment is short and sweet and unlike many other beauty treatments, there is barely any discomfort.

Before your appointment:

It’s a good idea to shower before your appointment (we’ll explain why later). Make sure you arrive at the beauticians without any mascara or eye makeup.

Once you’re there:

The aesthetician will discuss the look you want with you – whether you want a defined, fanned out look, a cat’s eye effect or extra curly. They will also discuss the color of the tint you want and how dark you want to go.

Next, you lie down on a bed with your eyes closed. Your eyes are cleansed, and they will comb and separate your upper and lower lashes. The top lashes are then attached to a silicone patch and a curling serum is applied to them. The solution breaks down the proteins in your eyelashes so that they curl around the patch. Then, a keratin-infused fixing serum is applied to strengthen your lashes to strengthen and condition them. Finally, a dye for the tint is applied. It takes about 10 minutes for the dye to set.  A final strengthening serum may be applied, depending on the kind of treatment offered and then the silicone pads are removed, and you are good to go.

The whole procedure just takes an hour from start to finish.

Post-treatment care:

The best thing you can do for your lift and tint treatment is to avoid moisture for at least 24 hours after. That’s why showering just before your lift and tint is a great idea. Avoid applying any eye makeup, cleansers or heavy exercise that can make you sweat. After that, you can get back to your usual routines.

Conditioning your lashes with coconut oil can also help keep your lashes hydrated.

How long does an eyelash lift and tint last?

The effects of a lash lift and tint procedure last about 6 to 9 weeks.

Eyelash Extensions vs. Lash Lifts

Eyelash extensions involve gluing individual lashes to your eyes using a medical-grade adhesive. While the procedure is safe, provided it is carried out by a trained professional, why not simply get your natural eyelashes to look vibrant without the probability of them looking clumpy. Also, lash lifts last a few weeks longer compared to extensions, so you don’t have to go for as many treatments.

At The Fix, we offer a virtually maintenance-free Lash Lift and Tint treatment that lasts for ages. If you want to get your eyebrows done too, we offer a combination package of lash lift and tint and eyebrow lamination treatments that are completed in under one hour.
